About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'm thrilled to have you here as I embark on this exciting journey into the captivating world of cybersecurity. My name is Matt, and this is where I will share my blog for tech 101! Join me through my journey.

My fascination with all things cyber began during my eight-year enlistment in the United States Air Force. As a Cyber Transport Systems Technician,  I was responsible for configuring routers, switches, and cryptographic devices, the backbone of secure communication. Those years of service honed my technical skills and ignited my passion for safeguarding digital realms.

One of the key aspects of my Air Force journey was working extensively with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and compliance measures. Ensuring that our systems met stringent security standards was what led me into cybersecurity.

My time in the Air Force provided a solid foundation, but it also opened my eyes to the vast possibilities within the field of cybersecurity. As I transition into the civilian sector, I am eager to explore the intricacies of network security, where I believe I can make an even greater impact. Protecting critical information and systems from cyber threats is a challenge I'm excited to take on, knowing that every step I take contributes to the safety of organizations and individuals alike.

Living in Southern California has been an incredible part of my journey. I love living here working in an environment I love. The opportunity for growth is massive. I also can't understate how good the weather is.

Beyond my professional life, I have a few hobbies. Film photography allows me to capture moments frozen in time, giving me a vintage vibe and an aesthetic like any other.  My other hobby includes spending all of my hard earned money on cars. I have a 95 BMW m3 that I LOVE. Living in southern California affords me the opportunity to drive some of the best roads in America.
